Welcome
Aston St Mary’s Primary School is situated in the village of Aston not far from the eastern edge of Stevenage. This Voluntary Aided Primary has a close partnership with St Mary’s Church in the village. “This is a good school. High-quality provision in the Early Years Foundation Stage, a considerable strength of the school, ensures that children get off to a flying start. Pupils in Years 1 to 6 achieve well and enjoy school because they are provided with good teaching and an interesting and enjoyable curriculum. By the end of Year 6, levels of attainment are above average. Most parents are very supportive of the school, one commenting, 'We really love this school and are overjoyed with our child's progress,' and another, 'I am so pleased with the school, a lovely community; I would not want my child to go anywhere else.'”  Ofsted 2010  The school roll is currently around 120.  Smaller than many schools, we take great pride in knowing and caring about every pupil.  Approximately 1/3 of our pupils come from the Parish of Aston with the remainder coming from the fringe of Stevenage.

The school has an active
PTFA who organise many events for pupils, parents and the village during the course of the year. Money from the PTFA is used to enhance the provision for our children. For more information take a look at our school prospectus.
